The LCD screen displays 16 characters over 8 lines. Though the TI-83's keyboard layout might seem daunting to those who've never laid eyes on a graphic calculator before, the helpful, if intimidatingly thick, manual will get you up and running quickly.
The TI-83 includes function, parametric and polar, and sequence plot modes. You can store, graph, and analyze up to 10 functions, 6 parametric and polar functions, and 3 sequence functions. The TI-83's Draw operations allow you to annotate graphs. Along with the advanced math and science features, the TI-83 also includes such financial functions as cash flow, amortization, and time value of money.
The included input-output cable lets you link the TI-83 with another TI-83 or a TI-82 for data sharing, and the optional TI-Graph Link software lets you transfer files to a PC.

I have used the Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus edition all throughout middle school, high school, college, and now my guardian child uses it for her middle school work! The best investment I ever made for myself and my children! Very sturdy and the battery lasts forever in it. I think I have changed them maybe one time in all these years. A++++++

This was the item I ordered, but was not the item I received from the seller. I went out a bought a new one while waiting on this seller to get in touch with me regarding a refund, which he never did. Amazon.com finally refunded my money themselves. This item, once I purchased it new, was very useful.

made several bids on ebay and was unable to win ,then this add for to buy
now came there it was for the same price for a used one that i was biddig on . my daughter was greatful to receive it so quickly

I received the above item with a battery that was corroded. I installed a new, uncorroded battery into the graphing calculator but the calculator did not work. I contacted the company and they reported that in 2 years they have never had a complaint. They did instruct me to mail it back with a copy of the e-mail regarding the problem with the calculator. We shall see how the replacement works.
