My parakeets( male and female ) that are both 3 year olds wont go near this thing. I have even tried putting their favorite treats on top of it.I think the color should have been anything other than black plastic, in my opinion parakeets probably respond better to colored objects.

Being a novice breeder, I read all the pros and cons of all the boxes available. I ordered eight of these boxes. They are easy to assemble, easy to clean and the birds LOVE them. They are PERFECTLY SIZED for my American Budgies. The clear observation door seems to provide extra comfort for the hens. (Or maybe its the black interior?)
