Editorial Review:
Amazon.com Review: Used by police, drug enforcement teams, and the military for training working dogs, this super-tough toy stands up to jaws of steel. Even if your dog's job rarely takes him off the couch, the Kong Extreme's goofy, unpredictable bounce makes for hours of chasing and fetching fun--just the thing for animals whose life in the wild consists of tracking, killing, chewing, and then doing the same thing all over again. When you're away, simply stuff the hollow interior with treats or gooey peanut butter, and extracting the contents becomes a "hunt" to keep any pooch happy and busy all workday long. Chewing Kongs also helps promote strong jaws, clean teeth, and general oral health. Even aggressive "power chewers" will find it hard to bite through carbon-formula Ultra Flex, and dogs with separation anxiety or problem behaviors like barking and digging will especially benefit from the mental and physical stimulation.
Kongs are made in the USA from a thick, flexible rubber that's non-toxic, non-splintering, and puncture-resistant. This black Kong Extreme is appropriate for larger-sized aggressive chewers, including collies, Labs, and boxers. Supervised play is highly recommended, especially when first giving a Kong toy to your dog. Regularly inspect the Kong for cracks or missing chunks, and replace worn or damaged toys to avoid a choking hazard. Satisfaction is guaranteed; if either you or your dog aren't happy with your purchase, return within 30 days for a full refund. --Mary Park

Saying that our dogs like to chew is an understatement. They can destroy just about any dog toy out there within minutes. NOT this Kong toy!
This is the ONLY toy (other Kong products as well) we have ever had that has lasted for MONTHS.
We have never put any of the snack products available into the middle of any of the Kong toys. I would think if they were chewing to get to the snack, they would destroy the Kong that much faster. ??
The red Kong toys are ... Read More

we recently got this kong for our young year old rottweiler who is a constant chewer and destroys absolutely every toy we have bought her in minutes.... except for this one. We have even hidden dog treats and cheeze wiz in it ( they love it and inexpensive too) and still it is intact in one peice after a month ! Best, longest lasting toughest toy we have bought.

Yes indeed,
The doggie destructors! Who could tear apart a toy in no time, may have met their match. During supervised playtime the toy has withstood the Labs torture. Time will tell, but so far so good...

Basically, you can use this toy in the way a lot of parents use the TV with their kids. It is a great way to occupy your dog's attention. Stuff it with Kong paste or peanut butter (our dogs' favorite) or other squishy material and treats, pop it in the freezer for an hour or so and wham! Rowdy zoomy pups are entranced with the tasty surprise inside. Freezing it especially helped when our pup was teething, and it makes the dog work harder to get what is inside. Dogs need to chew, and both of ours love ... Read More

She always loved the "original" Kong, but unfortunately would usually destroy it in just a day or two. She still hasn't met anything "indestructible", but this is the first and only chew-toy that she can lovingly munch at day after day, which lasts for months at a time. It's about time! :)
