Editorial Review:
Product Description: The Doggie Dooley is like a miniature septic tank for your dog's waste. Simple start-up. Just dig a hole, drop in the Doggie Dooley, add water and the Digester Powder, and your system is ready to go. System breaks down dog waste using the enzyme and bacteria action in the Waste Terminator Digester Powder. Built-in overflow lets treated liquid seep into hole-in-ground below unit. Select a site away from the house. It is recommended the location should be reached by a garden hose. Dig a round hole 48" deep by 14" in diameter. Use a post hole digger, if possible; otherwise, use a garden spade. Drop the Doggie Dooley into the ground hole. Shoulder flange should rest firmly on ground level. The unit requires normal ground drainage. Do not dig in a clay area. Find a location in your yard with minimum clay content in the soil. Fill the tank with about four gallons of water mixed with two tablespoons of digester powder. Drop dog waste into tank as soon as possible after filling with water. Dog waste should be added daily along with a quart of water. Adding water is very important and will keep the unit working properly. Water should overflow into the bottom of the hole when added to the unit. Add Waste Terminator Powder (one tablespoon) Weekly.

IF YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY, THIS IS QUITE A JOB, BUT WELL WORTH IT! I INSTALLED 2 OF THE GALVANIZED STEEL ROUND TYPE...TOOK ABOUT 4 HOURS EACH WITH A FEW 'BODY STRETCHING' BREAKS. DEFINITELY GET A HEAVY-DUTY BRANCH/ROOT CUTTER...IF YOU ARE NEAR TO LARGE TREES, YOU WILL INEVITABLY COME UPON LARGE ROOTS. I WENT A BIT DEEPER BY 3-5 INCHES IN ORDER TO LINE THE BOTTOM WITH 2-3 INCHES OF ROUNDED BEACH STONE AS WAS TOLD IS DONE WITH REGULAR SEPTIC TANK INSTALLATIONS. I USED THE 'AS SEEN ON TV' ... Once we got it in the ground (that was by far the hardest part, I would not reccomend doing it without a post digger) it worked great.

The Doggie Dooley 3000 has been installed for a couple of months now, and appears to work just fine. No odor, and no backups even though it is installed in GA clay. Two things you should know: (1) The lid is still plastic, although the rest of it is galvanized metal; and (2) Be sure to undersize the hole until you are 4 feet deep, then widen it out to 14"

I've been using this product for about 5 weeks and am completely satisfied. I had some concerns about the durability of the pyramid shaped model so I went with the galvanized steel model even though I only have 1 large breed dog. This model also came fully assembled and ready for the ground. The free scooper that was supposed to come with it was not included, so I was gyped there. The lid is hinged and opens easily but also will stay open for you which is great. I took some shortcuts on installation ... Read More

This was pretty easy to install and is handling waste from our three medium sized dogs (35-55 pounds). I scoop everyday and it only smells when I'm adding the water (I use a pretty high powered hose). I only wish it could work year round!
