Watch out! This fire bowl is not what's described! Most importantly, it is only 30 inches in diameter. If you are counting on it being 35 INCHES (as described) - you will be very disappointed. Our's was going to be inserted into a brick encasement in our yard, and we needed a firepit BIGGER than 30 inches. This isn't it. The people at Gaiam said "sorry - deal with Amazon" - the people at Amazon are so far being pretty cool.
ALSO, don't think that it's going to look like the picture! ... Read More

I gave one of these to each of my sisters, both of whom are putting new pools in the back yard. They seemed very pleased. I did notice that the metal does not appear to be wrought iron, but just painted. and the weep hole in the bottom of the pit gets clogged easily after a rain, so it is important to keep it clean or covered. It is very attractive and I hope it will provide several seasons of warmth.

I agree that this is a good product for the price. However, note that it comes with a basic black cover and so the bundled offer for the "Veranda Fire Pit Cover, in pebble, fits fire pit up to 44" diameter" for an additional $14.99 is really unnecessary. I ended up sending it back.

In my neighborhood lined with the hissing of busy backyards, over the fence gossip has it that the Copper Fire Bowl is overpriced, and that you might get similar results from using a concrete birdbath, but I have no such complaints about my purchase. Originally we planned to have one child stand there, at the entrance to the alley, lifting the firebowl aloft to mark the opening of the South of Market (San Francisco) "Spring Olympics," for what would an Olympic Opening Ceremony be without a fire ... The design is attractive and it works. It comes with a handle on the lid, and a tool to lift off the lid when the fire makes it too hot to touch -- a thoughtful detail. The copper is so thin that the bowl bends easily - but that means it's also easy to bend back into shape. For a similar price, the CostCo version is sturdier, but Target's version is good value for the price. I just wish any of these companies would provide a metal grate for grilling - you might guess they'd be really easy to ... Read More
