Product Description: HISTACALM« antihistaminic emollient anti-itch shampoo Indications: HISTACALM« antihistaminic emollient anti-itch shampoo provides temporary relief of itching associated with sensitive skin. HISTACALM« Shampoo contains both diphenhydramine hydrochloride, an antihistamine that stops the itch, and colloidal oatmeal, to cleanse and soothe irritated skin. Dosage and Administration: Shake well before using. Wet the hair coat and gently massage in HISTACALM«. Lather freely and rinse. Repeat and allow the lather to remain on the hair and skin for 5-10 minutes; then rinse. May be used once a day or as directed by a veterinarian. If the condition persists, discontinue use of the product and consult a veterinarian.

This product soaps up really well and my dog seems to enjoy it being on him. I soap his body up to his neck really well and then rinse. I apply again and let it sit while I do his face and head. That takes care of the 5 minutes it is suppose to stay on. Also, his coat is really silky and shiny after he dries. It seems to last for a few days before I do it again.

Having a terrier with allergies, it was agony to see her scratching and biting herself and having her hair fall out. We tried the shots from the vet but they were expensive and became less effective after a while. So we turned to other ways to relieve her itch problem.
