the ladder is long enough for 3 stories and seems to be easy to use. i purchased as a gift for family. hopefully they'll never need it. i esp. like it because it seems more stable and stands well away from the building. think it might have been a little hard to repack after they checked it out though, hence 4 stars.

have not removed product from the box since it says it is one time use. am hopeful that it will work if ever needed.

I purchased this fire escape ladder as a scondary means of escape for my son in his first apartment. My son took the ladder out of the box and was a little dismayed to read that the ladder is considered a one-use product. He had extended a few feet of the ladder just to become familiar with it and realized the reason it states that the ladder is a one-use item - you need to pay particular attention to refolding and keeping the ladder untangled so in an emergency, it will drop down and open up completely ... Safetry Ladder: Three Story -
You can't review something that only works once and that you hope you will never have to use. It would be nice if it came with a mounting bracket since trying to find it in a closet and put it in place in a window in a smoke filled room seems almost impossible. I would also suggest they add a small blinking light to help you find the ladder in the dark/smoke that might be run on a small long-lasting battery.
