I've had this at least six months now. She's 13 months old today and is still using this scratcher! I'm glad for it too, my last cat liked my couches better. All that's needed for this are extra yarn balls. Millie had her favorite one torn off and in pieces in less than a week. She even managed to take off the elastic band that holds it on. I bought this for my two cats because I wanted to see how they interacted with cat furniture before I bought something larger and more expensive. They both love this scratching post. My younger 1 year old cat was shimmying up the posts before I had even finished attaching the top platform. My cat loves the hanging pom poms, which hang from elastic so they spring away when he lets go, he especially enjoys sitting on the platform and reaching under to grab a toy.
