Product Description: Programmable feeder dispenses meals up to three times daily for better pet health 10-pound holder dispenses portions from 1/4 cup to 2 cups, as programmed Battery-operated unit requires no electricity or interaction to function Some studies have shown that feeding your pet smaller meals over the course of the day can prevent pet obesity and lead to better health. Unfortunately, most working people can`t get home to feed the dog at lunchtime, and many will forget to put out his breakfast in their rush to get out the door in the morning! Make sure your pet is fed regular amounts on a steady feeding schedule with the 10-Pound Portion-Control Feeder, a programmable, automatic pet feeder that dispenses portions from 1/4 cup to 2 cups at up to three selected times per day. The LeBistro Portion-Control Feeder is powered by Three D batteries(sold separately).

Needed to purchase an automatic feeder for when we're away for the weekend for our cat. The feeder assembled easily, and programmed easily. I have noticed some discrepency in the amount that dispenses. Also, the cat figured out immediately that she could fit her paw up the dispenser hole and dislodge more food. Still trying to figure out if this is "extra" food, or the food that would have been dispensed if it was working properly. So far, I can only recommend this unit for short-term use, as ... Read More

I like the idea of this product so purchased for my dog when we needed to be away for two weeks. I needed it for outside and only discovered once I received it that it is for indoor use only. So, I put the contraption into a secured/covered dog house so that was a non-issue for this time of year. Product was easy to program and did drop food on schedule. Did apparently malfunction after we left for a couple of days--jammed even though used smaller dog food size--but then was fine after discovered/corrected. ... Read More

We love this automatic feeder. We never have to remember to feed our dog. He also knows when feeding time is even if he isn't in the house. We have a lab, so the 3 cups isn't enough. However, I just set 1 more cup to come out in 2 minutes, and he can finish his dinner. Thanks to everyone who suggested it. Well worth it!

Either they recently changed the programming functions for this unit, or the people reviewing that complain about difficulties with programming it are new to electricity. :-)
I bought the medium size (10 lb hopper) version of this unit. Setup was extremely easy and quick! You set the current time, then you set the time and amount of food you want to feed for up to three meals per day. Took about five minutes take it out of the box, put the batteries in, fill it with food, and program it. It also ... Read More

The product itself does a good job - easy to set up and easy to do the setting. Now, I no longer worry about my pup going hungry whenever I cannot rush home in time.
An adjustment I need to make is the amount per feed. This product measures the size of feed by cups, but I use unit measurement, e.g. 200ml of dried food per meal, so I spend some time initially ascertaining how many cups equals 200ml. As it turned out, 200ml is between 3-4 cups in the setting, so a little bit of frustration here.
