I have had this fountain for over 4 years. I have periodically taken the unit apart when the flow wasn't adequate, but today that trick didn't work. I had never gone as far to remove the 3-pronged white spinning part before and after doing that, scraping it off with the tweezers I used to remove the part, water was bursting up like it was brand new. We have pretty hard water where I live, so that must be why there was so much build up. If that doesn't work, then maybe a new pump is in order. Mine ... Read More

This pump is the best ever! I found my bowl dry and the pump kaput, so I assumed I had damaged it. I began looking to buy a new one, and checked the PetMate website which said "PLEASE READ THE PUMP MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS BY CLICKING HERE. PLEASE FOLLOW THE PUMP CLEANING STEPS BEFORE CONTINUING." I followed the instructions and found that my impeller magnet was coated with minerals. I followed the instructions and it is now working perfectly! I have never had these babies last more than 2 months. I clean them, I use filtered water... please tell me I'm doing something wrong and I have a ton of pumps sitting around that just need to be "reset" or something. I've tried every switch setting, every flow setting, always run them submerged, but at about a month and a half, bang, they're dead.
Hopefully there's some alternative out there.

I searched all over for a replacement pump for my Petmate Fresh Flow Fountain. I've been through two fountains because the pumps just kept going bad. I came upon this replacement pump and ordered it. It arrived a week later and it's the perfect fit! It is missing the little cap that prevents the water reservoir from leaking out the back where the cord goes in, but other than that, it's just what I was looking for. The kitties are happy again with their fresh, cool water!
