If you are replacing a prior version of NIS Norton Internet Security 2009 1User/3Pc, save yourself some aggravation and run the Symantec uninstall tool from Symantec's web page before you try to install NIS 2009. It completely removes all Symantec products. You don't get a clean uninstall if you just do it from the control panel and the new version won't install correctly.

I had Norton Internet security 2008. One day last month I went to download my daily virus signatures and a dialog box from Norton came up and asked me if I wanted to download Norton Internet Security 2009 FOR FREE. Of course I clicked on "yes". N.I.S. 2009 is great. I like the new interface better, it only takes about 30 seconds to download new virus signatures and other updates. In just simple terms for those of you out there that have a limited understanding of the technical aspects of software like myself, all I can say is that this seems to be the best NIS that has come out in years.
