This is the only gate that we could find that was; reasonable priced, could span >70", provided a pass through door, was easily removable, expandable, and will adapt after the children are more mobile (such as gaurding the fireplace.
I am especialy impressed with the quality construction and ease of installation. Excellent!!

This is the first gate the actually accomodates our irregular stairway. It is adjustable and so versatile. It is sturdy enough that I haven't even mounted it to the walls. I absolutely recommend this gate. I wish I had known about it with my oldest daughter.

this gate makes my life so much easier than a traditional gate at the bottom of the stairs would have been. i did not want to struggle with opening a gate while i was on the bottom step going down, or struggle opening a gate with a baby in my arm or laundry etc when i was on the way up. its so much nicer to have a little 'landing' at the bottom of the stairs to readjust/compose myself before opening the baby gate (also a big help if you have dogs that tend to bum-rush you when you enter/exit a room). The wall mounting hardware is not fixed, so you can avoid floor mouldings, find studs in the wall, etc. This gate can be used in a linear configuration, C-Shape or S-Shape, depending on where you need to put it. more money, but worth it

I bought this gate after reading all of the positive reviews. I have to agree, I really like it! It was easy to put together (despite not having instructions) and it feels very stable. Also, measure your space very carefully. I measured wrong and had to order an extra extension. In total, I have the main gate plus three 24" extensions.

We use one of these at the top of our stairs, and one at the bottom. We have a wrought iron railing and this goes all the way around it. It is phenomenal.
