We bought the PlayDen which includes the Configure Gate and 5 other panels so we could cordon off one corner portion of our room. We found the panels to be very sturdy, attractive, and stayed up well without having to bolt/attach the end panels to the wall. My wife could lay down in the sleep area with our child without having to lift him in and out, sort of like a full-size crib. He would crawl in himself when sleepy and crawl out when awake. The gate is easy on the hands to open and locks firmly. Definitely worth the $150 we paid for it!

This gate is the best! We have an unusal opening from our kitchen to our living room and this was the ONLY gate that would fit in the opening. We had to buy this gate and the extension for it to work. It was quite pricey, but when it's the only gate that would work we really didn't have a choice. The construction of it is SUPERB. We have a 6 1/2 months old baby but orginally bought in for our 2 dogs. It is extremely sturdy, when the dogs are the in the living room with the gate shut and they jump on it when someone is at the front door, it does not move. The total weight of the dogs are 120lbs together. It has never budged and our one dog can be quite persistant about jumping on the gate. It is more than sturdy enough for an infant or a toddler. I have gotten more complaints on this gate than I have about anything in my house, everyone says how nice it looks. I would recommend this gate to anyone that needs a gate for unusual openings and also a gate that will probably last forever. My sister-in-law as gone through at least 3 wide-opening gates in the past 4 years and has spent a lot more than we paid for this gate, it is worth every penny. It detaches from the wall in seconds, swings open either way and has a squeeze handle that a toddler could never open. Half of the adults we know can't even figure out how to open it, they end up stepping over it. It's a no-brainer to use but the squeeze handle is concealed so well that you have to know where it is to use it. It just has a terrific design and structure. I'm just glad someone invented a gate like this for unusual openings and with such SUPERB quality. Definitely a five star rating.

I LOVE this gate. I started with the Soft & Wide gate and it was a dud for us. The problem was that my 2 older children would have to climb over it. Every time my 7 year old attempted it, she would make the gate pop out of place. And my 3 year old had a hard time getting over it by himself. If that wasn't bad enough, my 1 year old twins discovered that they could hang on the middle of the gate and it would pop out of place.
So, then I decided to fork over the money for this gate. It is absolutely wonderful and worth EVERY penny for the peace of mind it gives me. My twins have not been able to budge it. And, even better, my two older children can open it by themselves.

Being a mom of three 11 month olds, we needed a sturdy gate for a wide opening. This gate and a couple extensions worked great. We placed a couple bends in the sections, rather that running straight across, to add strenth to the gate. The triplets cannot budge this gate. The swing gate and opening mechanism is smooth to operate with one hand. While the gate is costly, it's worth every penny. My spouse installed it easily and commented on the high quality and workmanship.

I was a little shocked at the price of this gate, but it's probably the best "wide" gate available. We use it (the black gate) around our fireplace and it looks great. I feel very secure knowing that my 18 month old can't hurt himself on the brick hearth or get near the fire. Worth every penny. I did have to take it down to have my carpets cleaned and that's very easy, by lifting up and pulling. No muscle required. :)
