This gate is awesome! My daughter has a playroom that is the formal living room in our home. Her playroom is connected to the formal dining room and the entry way to our home. We need to contain her and that's just what we did! She is a very active 6 month old. She is quick! Well, the one thing I didn't know but fell in love with is the fact that the wall mountings attach then you slip the piece into it like you would to hang a picture on a nail. Well, it pops down in there and is sturdy. You can push little tabs at the bottom in with a screw driver and take the gates down without having to remove the wall mountings. So if your little one grows out of having the gates you can take them down and leave the wall mounting up and when you need them again it will take literally seconds to put back up. It takes literally seconds to take off also! GREAT JOB on the gate A+++.
Note: 6 screws into your wall total. Not that bad when you know your child is secure.

Pros: Worked for our 7.5 foot opening with one extension. Easy enough to install by following the directions. Seems to be very sturdy. Cons: It's very expensive!!!!

This is the best gate if you are trying to negociate a larger or offset space to block off. The three panel unit will adjust to almost any desired shape and lock in place very securely. The swing gate itself is very easy to open and close and locks with a good latch. This was especially useful to us since our walls are not flat but have contoured trims. The attaching 16" hinge and bracket can be adjustably positioned to clear any baseboard. The whole gate can be lifted off the wall mounts with the release of a safety catch.
All in all, a very sturdy, aesthetically pleasing, easy to install and use gate. Worth the money for sure.

We have a wide, open area between our kitchen and family room and wanted to keep our baby out of the kitchen. We bought 2 of the gates, and 2 extensions, and it fits perfectly. It is expensive, but worth it to have two ways in and out of the kitchen. Our baby can't open it or climb it and it is very safe. Later we can use the two smaller gates in other areas, or let others have them for their smaller doorways.

I found this gate hard to set up - the instructions weren't as clear as I would have liked and did not mention to remove the vertical bars before trying to adjust sections. (I am a minor DIYer).
It's great once it's in place, though! It is very sturdy and the gate is easy to open if you have a free hand.
