This is very sturdy and the door that swings both ways is such a nice feature. I cannot say enough good things about this gate! We have a open floorplan in our home and this gate is about the only one that would fit the large opening in our entryway. This was able to withstand everything my triplet daughters did to it for the last 3 years, and is none worse for the wear. I would highly recommend this gate to anyone, it is worth every penny!!

I've only had our gate up for about a week, but I love it. It's sturdy, and it keeps the dog and the baby coralled in one room. It also fit the very large space that needed to be blocked off. It was the only gate that I could find that would meet our needs.
My only complaint is that our 4 year old has a hard time working the gate, but I can live with that.

I bought one a year ago and it worked great. The hardware (at that time) attached it securely to the wall and everything fit well. I just bought another one and it's not the same. The new hardware probably saves the company 20 cents per gate but puts your child at risk. I'm sure the company thought the trade-off is worth it. Instead of securely attaching to studs in the wall the new hardware depends on screwing into drywall only - no wood. The result is a very flimsy mount - and dangerous.
This was a 5 star product a year ago but with the new hardware creating such a weak link it's now a zero.

We now have a total of 4 ConfigureGates to restrict our precocious 2 1/2 year old from (or to) various parts of the house. All the other gates we've tried have been replaced by ConfigureGates. The gate has clean lines, is white (not gray or brown like so many others), and cleans easily. The opening mechanism is easy, and can be done one-handed even by my mom, who has arthritis. The installation is simple - I can install it in about 10 minutes once I've actually found the drill in the garage! If you want to take down a gate for some reason (carpet cleaning, a party, moving furniture), the gate detaches from the wall in 60 seconds and you can fold it up to store it out of the way. All that remains mounted to the wall is a thin piece of plastic which is barely noticeable. Once removed permanently, that plastic piece leaves three drill holes in the wall which can be filled and repainted easily.
Three of our gates are in our upstairs hallway and loft area - the "second wall" in those areas is just a stairway railing, which created a special challenge. We've found that by installing one side into the real wall, we can use velcro ties to attach the other side to the spindles of the railing. We even have our gate at the top of the stair attached this way and it is very sturdy.
These gates have stood up to our 65 lb dogs running into them, jumping up to put their paws on top, and our toddler yanking on them with all her might. Extremely strong and well constructed.
On the downside, the gate is a standard 30" high - our daughter has learned how to climb over the gate (with or without a stepstool) if she really wants to. Of course, this is the same kid who learned to climb out of her crib at 15 months, so she would be climbing over any gate. Keeping the gates up is a physical reminder to her not to go into certain areas, however. The other negative is that the gate panel cannot be repositioned unless you buy extension pieces. When you buy the basic set, the gate panel is in the middle and it cannot be moved to the end panel unless you want to shorten the gate from 3 panels to 2 panels. We've managed to live with this, although it would be nice to have the gate on the end sometimes.
Overall, I would highly recommend this gate for anyone who needs to block off more than just a single doorway.

We are very pleased with this gate. We have a house with large open living spaces and fancy baseboards. This gate was easy to assemble and allowed for flexible placement. We are planning to sell our house soon and were worried about having a child's gate up while showing the house...well, this gate is easily detachable, which is a plus when you have guests over.
