This is the best gate for a large opening! I had such a hard time finding a gate that was big enough for the doorway into our den, but this one is great. We've had it almost a year and it's still like new. Our 1 year old pulls on it all the time and it holds up great. I definitely recommend this gate!
Only bad thing: At the part you walk through, there is a bar at the bottom that you have to step over. At first you forget and "fall" over it. Once you get used to it, it's fine. This would not change my opinion about this gate at all.
LOOK NO FURTHER- BUY THIS GATE!

I originally purchased this gate to keep my chihuahua off new carpet. I had purchased probably 5 different gates to block off various areas of my home, and decided a walk-through gate would make my life easier. I ran into the issue of not finding one large enough until I came across this one. It's a fantastic gate. It's very sturdy, and has held up through two years now of moving it around and re-configuring it for different space sizes. I love that I can mount the sides to the wall for something more permanent, but remove it when guests come over (if I want, although it's definitely presentable as well). Lately, I've bent it into a U-shape and let it stand on it's own since my dogs don't ever try to knock it over or anything. I can still walk through the gate, and it stands on its own. As I paint different rooms, I move it around with me to avoid having to close doors. I'm planning to purchase another since I now have two large openings I'd like to block, and after shopping around just to see if anything else is available, I've found my way back to this one. I definitely recommend it!

This is the best baby gate ever! We initially bought it over 2 years ago for my son to block off a large hallway...this gate was the only one big enough for the hallway. It is VERY simple to install. Now we have it in a different house for our second son. My now 3 year old can open it by himself (which we wanted). It was simple to bring with us on the move and easy to install again. I recommend this gate to ANYONE who is looking for a gate for large openings! We had MANY compliments from friends (who are also parents) about our gate after they had been at our house and used it. Don't pick any others! This one is it!

Previously, we were using a wide gate from Evenflow to block the 64" entry into our kitchen from our mudroom. The Evenflow gate had a plastic block that served to stabilize the pivot point at which the gate opened. It had cheesey rubber feet on the bottom that never actually kept the thing from sliding, so we changed to this gate.
Wow. Unbelievably solid. It was expensive, but I'm glad we changed to this one.
My only 2 quibbles with this are the fact that it's only adjustable to a point (some gates have a slide & screw method to make an exact fit) and you cannot mount the entry gate at an end - it MUST be in the middle, or if you get extenders, just not at one of the ends.

although pricey, this gate is totally worth it. i had to buy 3 extensions along with the gate, but now my computer and desk, TV, VCR and "library" are protected from my 2-year old. we got it when he was 12 months, and i imagine we can use it until he's 3. there's no way his little hands are strong enough to open the gate; if it were, i would assume it was a defect and exchange it for another. just think: no crayons in your VCR (horror stories i've heard), no computer malfunctions, and your babe can't climb up book cases.
