Our dog won't sleep on it. I think he's a princess. He chewed it for a while, then slept as far away as he could from it and still be on his bedding. I will try again this winter, and bury it deeper into the bedding, but he's either afraid of it or doesn't like its hard, frisbee like surface. And I covered it well, but will put more layers on top. he is very finicky in all circumstances, little hair and very bony. maybe a fatter dog would like it, but then that one would be warm enough. I'd return it except it's chewed on!

This item worked very well when trying to keep animals warm,
without having to plug it in, it's safer then a heating pad.

Having worked in animal rescue for many years, I cannot say enough about this product. Unlike a conventional heating pad, there is no danger of electrical problems. I have used this product for my elderly cats as well as bottle babies - it is easy to use and easy to clean. It is helpful when one of my babies doesn't feel 100% - sort of like cuddling up to Mom.And rotten person that I am, it also makes an excellent foot warmer for me.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3ED47OD4Q5TWB This is the use I found amazing for this pad, an overnight warmer for my chick brooder, these are RI Red chicks in the morning having gone the night with just the heat pad from 11pm until 5am when a light comes on. It provides 120F degrees for 8 hours approximately. NOTE: this works for temps above 60 degrees at night, I wouldn't recommend using it by itself otherwise, I add a light bulb if it gets colder. The ecofriendly part is that the whole thing is recyclable, made in the UK (so you might have to send it back there for recycling).

I did my first fostering of 5 kittens (still have 4 of them). I kept them on a soft bed with lots of little blankies, but didn't at the time know about "chilling" and the runt-baby boy I had named Bravehart passed away (God rest his tender soul) after taking him to emergency from "chilling". Was heartbroken. I searched on CalVetSuppy .com where I get a lot of my cat meds, etc., and found the Snugglesafe and bought 2. It has made ALL the difference in the world for these remaining 4 kitties, they love it at night. If you put enough cushioning blankets over the Snugglesafe, the heat warms the blankets and really does stay warm all night. It's totally perfect! Since my mom is adopting 2 of my foster kitties, I gave her one of them to be sure they always have a warm place. I'm going to buy another one so I'll always have 2 since you can't warm them up again until they are completely cold and I'd like to have one there day and night. I HIGHLY recommend this product. Follow the instructions, like the other person said, about how long to heat it pursuant to what your microwave's wattage is. That way it won't deform and the gel come out. You kitty fosters out there, I so highly recommend this for the baby-baby kittens!!
