I just bought this set yesterday so I can't rate it yet but I do like the concept of glass over plastic. I read several complaints about the lids. My 14-piece set had 1 7-cup lid, 1 4-cup lid, and 5 2-cup lid. I was suppose to get 1, 2, and 4. I called up Corningware and told them what I got and they are shipping the correct lid to me free of charge...and I have an extra 2-cup lid. Very helpful.

Get rid of all those nasty plastic containers you have that have stains and have melted from boiling liquid in the microwave and invest in these containers. I bought two sets, and I plan on having these forever. They will last you so much longer, and are not dangerous to cook food in in the microwave like some plastic can be. Plus, they look nice, so you can actually serve food in them, then pop the lid on and put them in the fridge. I think they are oven-proof too. They are also really sturdy. I dropped one accidentally about a foot and a half into my sink the other day and it actually bounced once and hit the sink again, but DIDN'T break or chip. And the lids won't shrink unless you put them on the bottom rack of the dishwasher.

For the money, this is a great product!! I've gotten so much use out of this set already. With all the buzz out there about the chemicals used in plastic food storage containers, I feel safer using glass, especially in the microwave. The added bonus is that the Pyrex, of course, doesn't hold a smell or a stain from the food you store in it like plastic does.

Exactly what I needed to get rid of all my old plastic tupperware. I got the set in a factory sealed box with all the appropriate lids. I would definitely recommend purchasing this set!

Excellent quality as expected from Pyrex. Clear containers really help when you are trying to find something in the refrigerator.
Unfortunately the there is nothing on the lids that says what kind of plastic they are made of. They are dishwasher safe - I've washed one in the dishwasher in over a year - but now I've switched to washing the lids by hand in cool water. There is a study that says that exposing certain kinds of plastic to hot water increases the rate at which it releases phthalates. So I really wish I knew what the lids were made out of.
