I bought this mat because of the reviews I read on it. I have found that it works pretty well. We use natural kitty litter that has large chunks and breaks down over a few weeks. I find the large pieces get stuck in the mat but with a little effort can get them out with the vaccum cleaner. My cat doesn't have any issues with the mat and steps on it when she gets out of the kitty box. Works much better than our last rug did.

The only aspect of this product that I do not like is the cutesie paw shape of the mat. A simple rectangle or semi-circle would make the product more appealing to me. However, the product works great. It keeps the vast majority of the litter on the mat instead of tracking it through the house. One of our cats is long haired (on the bottom of his paws as well) so we still get some debris transported. However, our short-haired cats are able to use the mat to remove the litter before they leave the room.

I bought this mat a couple of weeks ago. I read the bad reviews of this mat but still ordered it. It looks cute. Many people said it's too small. But I put the litter box in a very small guest bathroom. So I only worry if the mat is too big.
It turned out to be perfect for my house because I'm using "Omega Paw RA20 Self-Cleaning Litter Box" for my cat. This mat is from the same brand. And I think it's designed for that specific self-cleaning box, because there is a small hole on the front of that litter box for cats to go in and out, and the size of this mat fits exactly the width of that hole. So when my cat walks out of the litter box, she has to walk on this mat first. This way it works even though it's a very small mat.
So if you are using a litter box without a lid or with a pretty big hole, of course this mat sucks.
It's still not perfect. I have to clean the floor near the litter box. But it hardly looks like a mess now. We do have less tracking in the housing after using this mat.

For the price the mat should be larger. Does not cover a large enough area

my cat is still trying to get all the sand out of the box and well he manages well to get most of it beyond the mat ;)
if there is a bigger one try and get that one as this does work its just to small to grab everything.
