The Oster Nail Grinder is my saving grace! I used to hate to clip my dog's nails because I was afraid that I would hit the quick and make him bleed. Now I can stop grinding as soon as I start to see the quick! Also, my dog used to scratch me with his sharp nails after I used clippers; now, with the Grinder, they are so smooth!
Cons: They do not have directions on how to use the Grinder. I had to look up directions on the internet from some random lady who made a website detailing how she used her grinder. It was frustrating at first because I had no clue what pieces to use first or at what speed. Also, the noise is NOT as quiet as a whisper. I'm not sure if it's just mine, but I found mine to be quite loud.
Overall, the pros of having and using the Nail Grinder outweigh the cons. I would definitely recommend the Grinder to anyone with dogs! Keeping their nails short and smooth is easy as pie!
Suggestions: If you have a large dog, wearing some sort of mask over your nose and mouth would help a lot! I have a Great Dane and his nails produce quite a lot of powder when I grind them. Also, introduce the product slowly to your dog. It's frustrating if they are afraid of the noise/feeling of the Grinder and want to get away from it. Use lots of treats! :)

I have used the nail grinder 3 or 4 times now on my Boston Terrier and it works great. It is light weight and grinds his nails down in much less time than it would take to cut them. He is not as scared of it as he was of the nail clippers. I love it. I like the fact that it just plugs in too so that I don't have to worry about batteries or the power ever dying down. Great product!

The nail grinder seems to be everything advertised, but like so many other buyers, it would sure be nice if Oster provided more information. Virtually nothing is provided, so thank goodness there are others who have used the Internet to describe their experiences with the grinder, and their recommendations.

This works but is a bit under powered making the process take longer that the dog or I would like.

I own five dogs and one that had nails from puppymill world.... This tool is great and worked on her nails! She hated the clipper and had issues with her feet. After working on them every week she has more normal nails. She does not mind the sound after being introduced to it first. Love the product and all my dogs but one pom who pull have no problem with me using the grinder on their feet. The one that has issue's allows me to work on her feet if my husband rubs her belly. Great tool and worth the money!
