I bought this for my collie along with 5 other toys. He loves just about everything, but won't touch this. As another reviewer mentioned, it has a very strong plastic smell that is overpowering. Even with the treats in it it smells like plastic. Then, after a few days the treats began to turn rancid and really stink. There is no way to get the treats out or clean it. I tried everything short of drilling a hole in it. I do not see how anyone could give this anything more than a three. This was a waste of money.

Pros:
- keeps my dog busy, he really likes it, after taking a while to realize what the whole concept is (and the smell of vinyl having worn off a bit)
- easy to fill with little solid treats
- up to now, hasnt been torn up.. and my dog rips apart everything..
Cons:
- a bee to clean, there's no hole other than where food goes in so cleaning is basically you playing the dog's game, trying to get all the food pieces out.
- smells very strongly of vinyl, this might initially turn off alot of dogs. keep at it, they'll come around.

I tried everything. After figuring out what my cat's favorite kind of treat was, I loaded the ball with them. My cat simply didn't care. He looked at it for a couple seconds and walked away from it. I then added some catnip. He played with it for maybe seven or eight seconds and lost interest. I tried catnip spray, tossing it to the cat, attaching it to a string and any number of other tricks, but nothing worked. I thought that it would give my indoor cat some exercise, but nothing helped. He just couldn't be bothered. I then gave it to a friend with multiple cats. My friend actually had some luck. I guess that his cats were concerned that the other cats would get the treats first, so they actually used the ball and managed to get some treats out of it.
In short, the only reason that a cat would use this ball, at least as far as my experience can demonstrate, is so that another cat will not be able to get the treats within. It is an ugly statement about the nature of cats (just kidding).
I guess that my family will be sticking with fuzzy strings on the ends of sticks for our cat.

Perfect size ball, perfect size hole, bad material. Might work great if your dog never chews. Mine did and destroyed it in the first hour.

We have two Australian Cattle Dogs. It took them about 15 seconds to figure out how to get the treats out of the toys. The good thing is that the process of getting the treats is a long one so it still takes time to get the treats out. I think that if the two dogs weren't so food motivated they would get bored very quickly with these.
Pros: It is a good toy to give to keep them busy for 15 minutes or so.
Cons: It is very difficult to clean. I had to drill a hole in the bottom to allow the water to drain out when I clean them. It dropped one start due to this other wise it would get 5 stars.
