I ordered this cat box for my Mom's kitty - mainly because she had a problem - "oversquirting" the back wall of the cat box! It was a terrible mess! This cat box took care of the problem completely! It worked out so well, I ordered one for my 2 cats! I was concerned that they might have a problem adjusting to the top entry, but it was not a problem at all! I would highly recommend this cat box to anyone! It is the BEST!

I got this because of my little dog trying to get treats from the litter box. Initially it worked well, though one of my cats wouldn't use it with the lid on (my dog was still unable to get into the litter). However, then when I took over care of a rottweiler, even with the cover on it provided no protection from litter box diving. If you have a small dog, and a flexible cat, this product will work wonderfully. If your cat is inflexible, and the dog is large, keep looking.

I have two cats, the older one is 16 and weighs 16 pounds and the younger one is 10 and weighs 8 pounds. My larger cat was able to use the box but with some difficulty. Because of the amount of effort needed to get in and out of the box, he decided that he would no longer use it after about 2 weeks. Instead, he used a decorative rattan basket in my living room one Sunday morning.
On another note, this box was recommended to me in a large chain pet store and I was told that the ribbed lid would catch litter but this just wasn't the case. There was litter all over the floor around the box.
This might work with a young and/or skinny cat but is not a good idea for an older cat who is set in his ways.

Small dog owners can rejoice at the top loading litterbox. A dog can't get inside but an agile cat can. There is also less odor emited with a top loader and less litter spread around after they knock their paws on the lid. When cleaning the box, just turn the lid upsidedown and let the loose litter on the top go back into the box.
