Unlike most of the other reviewers I'm using two of these to control the movement of dogs in my house. My sister-in-law is living with us and has two dogs, one is a great dane, and I don't want them running all over the house for obvious reasons, including the fact that I have an older basset hound whose not interested in playing with her dogs.
This gate has been very effective, and I find it easy to use. It's easy to adjust the size of gate by just unscrewing rod ends. The gate is spring loaded so it's easy to fit into most opening, and with the soft rubber tips it won't damage your walls. Or you can do like I do, so I don't have to climb over them or take them in and out I opened them bigger then the opening and lean them in place.

This was the only gate I could find that didn't cost a fortune that would fit my entryways without being hard mounted into the wall. I have one opening that is 54" and one that is almost 57", and the gates fit perfectly in both. They are easy to take down and put back up, and the tension is enough that even when my daughter leans into the mesh it stays put. We don't have any issue walking over this gate. It is only an problem for someone who is quite short or has difficulty lifting their legs. I like that we can see through the mesh to watch from another room, and even if my daughter falls into it, it's not going to pinch her fingers or scratch or scrape her skin like a hard plastic or wooden gate would. I cannot say at this point if the tension will withstand a toddler's abuse, but I have kicked the top rail stepping over it and it didn't budge.

This gate is excellent ... sturdy and fits well. We bought this to keep our 18-month old daughter from detroying our computer room. She leans up against it daily and it never budges. It's a great gate. I only wish it came in wider sizes. Phenomenal for the price!

I think for the price this is a great buy. We have it out almost as far as it will go and it holds tight. It is pretty easy to install, but does take some strength. Its not hard at all to put together. Mine was shipped in a huge box even though the products box is just a bit bigger than the product itself. If you have a child that pulls up and puts a foot or leg over a gate then this isn't for you. They can easily pull themselves up and put a leg over this. They would not be able to get a foothold on it though. My husband has tripped over it a few times and did finally fall hard and bend the top bar. We are moving soon so I didn't order a replacement, but if we were not moving I would have. I think it was his fault not the product. It did hold up when he fell over it though. Overall a great buy and even though I have read reviews saying it doesn't do well fully extended ours did.

I love this gate! We are in a rental house and it has a larger door opening so we needed a larger gate that wouldn't damage the trim. This worked great. It really does the job!
