I have a 1/2 acre lot surrounded by the PetSafe fence and this tool helped me locate my break in just a few minutes. Hook-up and operation went exactly as advertised and thus it easily paid for itself just this one time. I did not give it 5 stars as I am concerned with the durability of the radio receiver, it is pretty flimsy. I would recommend this item to friends.

This product was very easy to use and worked as stated. Very fast shipping. I would recommend this for anyone with the underground fence, I found two breaks in my 8oo plus feet fence in about 5 minutes. Highly recommended.

I have a lot of experience with invisible fences from having installed systems at our last two houses. Experience with these fences implies experience with breaks in the wire.
The last time we had our lawn aerated, when I got home the loop indicator alarm was triggered.
I tried the solution you may find on internet searches, where it is recommended to use a Radio Shack choke, but this absolutely did not work for me. I figured I would give the RFA-50 a try. It worked exactly as I hoped, and allowed me to find the multiple breaks in the fence wire.
I agree with others in that I really do not know how I would have repaired my fence without this system other than by completely rewiring half the yard (the other half of my yard the wire runs through the woods). Rewiring means going through the effort of reburying the new wire.
Finally, as others have said, I will have the RFA-50 system the next time a wire break occurs, and I will be able to help others troubleshoot their systems.
Don't hesitate to purchase this system, it is worth every dollar.

At first I didn't think it would work but it took us right to the break in the wire! I definitely reccommend this product.

Instructions were clear, but if you live in the city or even near a large city, you'll have a hard time finding a empty frequency at the bottom of the radio band, to hear the two frequencies. It took about an hour to figure out the tones (frequencies) from the radio stations. But after the initial trial, I found two breaks within 10 minutes. One other improvement is the radio needs to have a headphone jack. We live on a rural road where vehicles are driving by at high speed and you sometimes cannot hear the radio. Either way, this was a useful product, and I rate it highly.
