Instructions were clear, but if you live in the city or even near a large city, you'll have a hard time finding a empty frequency at the bottom of the radio band, to hear the two frequencies. It took about an hour to figure out the tones (frequencies) from the radio stations. But after the initial trial, I found two breaks within 10 minutes. One other improvement is the radio needs to have a headphone jack. We live on a rural road where vehicles are driving by at high speed and you sometimes cannot hear the radio. Either way, this was a useful product, and I rate it highly.

This locator helped us find the breaks in our electric fence quickly and easily. We found we had numerous breaks from mice eating through the wires. I don't know how long it would have taken us without this device. It was definitely worth the money. Plus, now we have it for the next time. With these electric fences, there are many times when they go out and trying to figure out why and where can be very time consuming.

Purchased this and was able to find the break in the wire within a few feet around the boundary of my 1/2 acre yard. The radio(receiver) that comes with it worked but I found my son's old am/fm radio provided better adjustment of the frequency. Using the provided radio I found it difficult to pick up the transmitter frequency over the 50,000 watt AM radio station. Overall, it saved me much time and I am sure I will put it to use in the future after aerating my yard.

Device worked great...We live near Minneapolis and get a big overlapping signal from a local radio station but there is definitely a change in signal tone when you wave the AM radio past the wire. I found three breaks in my 1500ft long loop. I would never been able to find them without such a device.

Shortly after installing our radio fence, the alarm indicated a break. Our yard is an acre and a half and I didn't know how I was going to find it. My son and I used this product as instructed and found the break quickly. We repaired the break and now my cats can go outside again. For anyone who installed a Radio Fence themselves, this is the product you need if the wire breaks.
