My 2 female dogs have a history of having some pretty nasty fights. When I consulted with one of the veterinarians at our local animal hospital, she suggested trying this DAP diffuser. I was so excited to have possibly found something that might help with their behavior, I ran right out to buy this.
I read several positive reviews and a few negative ones, but was hopeful it could help.
I bought one refill so I could give the DAP a try for longer than a month in case it would take a while to work.
I didn't notice any changes in the behavior of either of my dogs, unfortunately. Granted, they don't fight on a daily basis (maybe 1-2 fights per year) but one female is a little on the nervous side and both are barkers when the doorbell rings, things that this DAP is supposed to help with, and unfortunately, I noticed absolutely no difference after using the diffuser for 2 months.
Maybe you just can't "teach an old dog new tricks".

I had high hopes for this product and used it exactly as directed.
Unfortunately, as with anything, it doesn't work for everyone and it certainly didn't work for our dog at all. If anything, his separation anxiety was just as bad if not worse.
But this may work for someone else.

Despite some reviews I read before I purchased this product, it was money down the drain. Maybe it might work for a small dog with a mild nervous problem but it did nothing to calm our 2 corgi's. They get very agitated when we leave and sometimes pace nervously in the house when we're home. Both have always been high-strung.
I wouldn't recommend this product. Save your money! (I have seen similar products at the vet, and our vet uses the one for cats often, and that does work. I guess I should have tried the brand the vet sells...)

I've been using DAP for a couple of years now & it really works for behavioral problems. My dog is a chewer & chews furniture/carpet when we leave her alone. The DAP helps alleviate her anxiety & she doesn't chew anymore. I wondered for the longest if the product really worked or if it was a coincidence, but whenever I run out of the pheromone she starts chewing again.

We bought 2 DAP wall diffusers and a DAP collar for our storm fearing dog. Unfortunately it has not made any difference whatsoever. Maybe it will work for others but did not help our dog.
