I just received this gate yesterday to contain my miniature schnauser. No problem installing and no problem opening gate with one hand.

I bought this to replace a wooden swing gate, I liked but needed to replace due to the wood warping. It works, but is more difficult to open and close, I usually need 2 hands to operate it, and don't always have 2 available. I would like it better if the gate swung close on its own, and had an easier latch system.

This gate is great and very easy to put up. I bought it for my chihuahua puppy. Only problem was the extension when added left a gap that my pup got through. I just used some cord to zig zag around it so she cannot get through. An easy fix and a great gate, my chihuahua is very small but other puppies would do great with this.

These gates are wonderful. They are extremely easy to install and easy to use. They are tall enough that my German Shepherd can't get over them and the spaces are small enough that my Pommie and Jack Russell can't get through them. The taupe color makes them perfect for any color setting. I would highly recommend these gates to anyone.

I bought this gate to keep my newly adopted 2 year old yellow lab in the kitchen when I am not at home. I put it up in November 2007 and it's still working like a charm. Like other reviewers, I was very confused when I took it out of the box and saw that the top was splayed much wider than the bottom. I really thought it was broken, but as I started to mount it in the doorway I understood why it was like that. This gate is incredibly sturdy and strong, easy to open (once you understand how), and it keeps my dog in the kitchen when I'm not home. The bar across the bottom does cause some tripping, but once you get used to it, you learn to step over. And without the bar on the bottom the gate would not be nearly as effective. I strongly recommend this gate to anyone who wants a strong, sturdy, effective gate, but doesn't want to put holes in their wall. Another benefit is if you have molding at the bottom of the doorway or walls, this gate can accommodate for that - which many gates do not.
I have left this gate in place since I put it up 7 months ago, so I can't really speak to how well it holds up to being put up and taken down.
