After buying EVERY expensive cat litter system out there including the cat toilet I can hardly believe this one works for us!
I will go right into Pros, Cons & Caveats:
Pros:
Easy set-up
Easy to clean out feces
Easy to clean out urine
Easy maintenance/cleaning
Easy to get refill supplies (Amazon subscription program)
Refills are cost effective
NOT dependent on batteries or electricity
No smell/scenting from litter itself or urine pad items (meaning the actual items not urine/feces)
Very little litter mess outside of litter box
VERY cost effective
VERY time efficient
VERY convenient
Litter scooper is included and it hooks of the litter box itself so it doesn't get lost!
Comes with an initial supply of litter and urine pads
CONS:
Absolutely none for us!
CAVEATS*
*Our cats took very well to this set-up; they have taken very well to all the systems we have had: reg. litter box, Litter Maid box, Cat Genie Toilet, etc. so that has never been a problem for us.
*It would not work well for cats that have frequent digestive issues/loose stools.
This system works on the concept of separation of the urine and the feces. The urine does not absorb into the litter, it passes through the litter to a separate lower section where a pad is to absorb it and control that horrible ammonia smell. The fecal matter is retained in the litter section above which you scoop out daily. It is easy to scoop out with minimal waste of the litter itself. You change the urine pad by pulling out the drawer that holds it and replacing the pad in there (we have 3 cats and we change the pad once a week). We add the litter as needed, about a half a cup per week.
I am embarrassed to say how much money we have spent trying to find a cat litter system that balances expense vs. convenience so I hope this review helps you make a wise, informed purchase.

I am loving this! I don't have to worry about cat litter tracked all over the place, I don't have to chip away blocks of urinated cat litter, making huge messes!! For the reasonable price, the Breeze is more than fantastic! There's so much that no longer has to be dealt with. The Breeze is nearly self sufficient. It is necessary to clean it and change out the pellets, but big deal!! Compared to what I used to have to deal with, I'm in HEAVEN with the TidyCat Breeze!! Thank You!!!

I got one of these systems as a freebie when they first came out and really didn't have very high hopes. But now I'm back buying another because I've been so thrilled with it!
Pros: They suggest you change the litter once a month and the pad once a week, but I've been able to stretch that significantly longer with no problems. I've never been able to detect any urine odor whatsoever. My very non-picky cat liked it the first time he used it and easily switched over. No scoop until he poops!
Cons: I find one bag of litter isn't really deep enough and I have to add part of a second bag. No matter how shallow the litter level, my cat seems to enjoy kicking it out as far as possible. It can be difficult to locate refill litter and pads. The bright green color of the box makes it the first thing guests notice if they happen to walk by it.

I just love this. I worried about changing out our old litter box (we have an 18 yr old cat that is picky, and honestly I don't want to upset her), but I am so tired of cat litter getting everywhere. I put this new box next to the old one, and she used it right away. After 3 days, I removed the old one and she uses it perfectly. I am thrilled!!! She has some kindey issues so we go through a pad once every 5 days, but I'm ok with that. I'll pay a little extra on the pads to not have the mess of kitty litter everywhere. Two thumbs up from me!

I have six indoor cats and have spent a lot of time and money on litter boxes, litter, etc. The Breeze may not be the perfect solution, but I don't know that there is a perfect solution to the litter box issue. I tried at least twice to get my cats to use the toilet, but they won that battle so now it's a matter of finding the most tolerable combination of litter boxes to accommodate everyone.
Right now I have 3 Breeze litter boxes (only 2 are set up), a Littermaid (which I still need to set up) and one regular old run of the mill litter box. I had a litter robot, but it finally died. So basically we are using 2 Breeze litter boxes and a traditional litter box.
I know that at least four of the six cats are using the Breeze litter boxes because I have seen them use it. Because we have so many cats, we do need to change the pads rather frequently - every 2 or 3 days. The Breeze does keep the odor of the urine way, way down. I have one cat that won't use the litter box if it isn't clean enough and I have seen her use the Breeze several times.
I know that the cats are still using the traditional litter box because I still have to scoop it. However, I am using a corn-based, clumping, flushable litter and keep it in the bathroom so it can be scooped and flushed whenever I go in there.
As far as transition went, I just replaced one of the old litter boxes with a Breeze litter box. Before long there was evidence that they were using it. At first they were just peeing in it but it didn't take long for them to figure out that they could poop in it too. Before I knew it, they were using it so much that we weren't keeping up with the pad changes. That's when I went out and bought two more (one still needs to be set up). If six cats using only three litter boxes works then once we get the third Breeze and the Littermaid set up, we will be that much happier.
All of that said, I am very happy with the Breeze. I don't know that we are ready to use Breeze litter boxes exclusively, but I can say that the Breeze has definitely cut down on the urine odor. There isn't much that can be done about the poop smell until it dries or is scooped, but at least I'm not knocked over with the smell of urine every time I open the front door. I'll take the poop smell over that overwhelming urine smell any day!
